How Does the VA Pact Act Impact Homeowners
The PACT Act makes it easier for many survivors to receive Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC). Previously denied veterans may be eligible under the 2022 Pact Act.
What does this mean for homebuyers?
Veterans that were previously denied benefits may now qualify to have the funding fee waived. In addition, surviving spouses now eligible for DIC are also eligible to receive a Certificate of Eligibilty, meaning they can now buy a home with a VA loan.
What is the benefit of a VA loan vs other types of home loans?
VA loans have no down payment requirements, meaning borrowers can buy a home with zero down. VA loans also do not require monthly mortgage insurance and often have better loan terms, ie, lower interest rates, than non-government loans.
